Creating Ties That Bind

I believe
It was late the night of January 28, 1998, when my grandmother called us and said
Our grandfather had just passed away, about 7 o’clock that night….coming back from PaPa’s restaurant, his favorite place to eat
She said he just leaned forward, moaned O’ my back, and fell backwards into the seat, it upset my family when it happened, but the Lord appeared to us and said everything is going to be alright
And I believe, that our loved ones are among us, even if they’re dead and gone,
and I have faith that one day I will rejoin them and never be alone
Well it wasn’t too long after that, that my Uncle Jesse, my granddaddy’s brother, passed away, but it gave me relief to know that he had been a preacher, and had never quit following the lord
And I believe, that our loved ones are among us, even if they’re dead and gone,
and I have faith that one day I will rejoin them and never be alone
Now every now and then, I’ll be sitting alone and feeling blue,
And I can feel my past loved ones telling me not to worry everything's gonna be alright
And I believe, that our loved ones are among us, even if they’re dead and gone,
and I have faith that one day I will rejoin them and never be alone
